BEN ELLA FERGUSON

AUSTIN - Ben Ella Parham Ferguson, 83, of Buda, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001.  Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Barton Cemetery near Buda with the Rev. Mark Porterfield officiating. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 a.m. Monday at Wilke-Daly-Fish Funeral in Austin.

Mrs. Ferguson was born Aug. 26, 1917, in Cego.  Bee was one of 10 children born to Benjamin Roland Parham and Priscilla Ella Clark Parham.  She was the widow of Bruce Ferguson, former mayor of Buda.  He preceded her in death in 1976.  In their life together, they operated Ferguson Exxon on the main street of Buda.  Bee was known for her generosity, supplying her friends and neighbors with homemade baked goods and candy.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Daphna Greenhaw, Ruth Nance and Sue Chet.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen S. Payne and husband Gene; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, B. R. Parham, Jr. of McGregor; sisters, Mildred Gates of Rockdale, Dorothy Stephenson of Belton and Betty Rose of Temple; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Buda.
